today i’ve been feeling less than stellar.
headache, dizzy, chills, etc.
but i’ve been painting the past few days.
a piece for my mom’s friend, ms. amy, to go in her living room.
i’ve still got a little more to do before it’s finished but i’m loving painting again.
it’s relaxing & therapeutic.
i think i might just keep it up.
(as long as my bank account can keep up with the canvases & paint bills).
i’ve got painting ideas coming out my ears, i can’t wait to get them on canvas.
in other news…..
annie girl has a new cousin!
(no sister did not have a baben overnight)
my aunt got a new puppy.
she’s a chinese crested powderpuff (like ann) but she’s only 10 weeks old, 2.5 pounds, & snow white.
annie is a giant compared to her.
she’s a little feisty girl too.
they’re still deciding on a name, but i think they’re going to decide on willow.
this is a picture from about 2 weeks ago.
i’ll have to get some newer ones of her & miss annie.
[day seven] favorite memory of 2010.
2010 was a tough year for me emotionally.
ups & downs & being mislead, truth, it kinda sucked a lot at times.
but there were some great times.
my favorite memory would be the weekend i adopted annie girl.
it’s been a completely different life since she came to reign as princess in this household & i NEVER know what she’s going to get into next.
she has eaten a few pens, stolen my oatmeal (among other food items), jumped her gate, escaped from her crate she sleeps in, turned ONE, learned to climb her gate, let me know in a slightly disgusting way that pig ears do not sit well on her stomach, started to bark (a lot), traveled to the mountains & the beach, & brought so much joy to my life.
she is adorable & sweet & i’m sooooo glad she found her way into my life 🙂
it’s almost 4.
i hope i can make it until 5 at work.
the gym will not be happening tonight.
i can barely stand, let alone lift a weight or run even a tenth of a mile.
i don’t know what i was thinking last night in my state of delirium/exhaustion when i set my alarm for 8 am, because i had to be at work at 10, which means i needed to leave my house by 9:15.
& i know better than to give myself an hour to get ready in the morning.
anyways, let’s just say this morning was a little crazy.
annie has decided that eating out of her bowl makes the food taste less or maybe she just thinks she’s a person & wants food out of a big bowl like me.
i don’t know.
the funny thing is, we eat the same thing for breakfast, exactly, & she wants mine, not hers.
(but super adorable).
i had a point when i started this post.
but now i don’t remember 🙂
but i like this:
well, i took a week long break from technology, the gym, & healthy eating.
oh well, it was fun 🙂
i just got back from the gym for the first time since last tuesday (used my new nike + ipod running kit & love it).
& i just got around to reading blog posts from the past 5 days.
we had a wonderul (& white) christmas here in north carolina.
& annie LOVES the snow.
my sister tooks lots of adorable pictures of her 🙂
my dad gave my sister & i [yellow tail] opoly & we played all christmas morning.
even though we were not supposed to get presents (except the one from whoever drew our name) mom & grandma cheated & went overboard.
so we actually got a lot of cute things.
one of my favorites, a vintage kodak camera, it’s on my bookshelf & i heart it.
we had a great snow day yesterday too
(pictures to come soon).
in other news.
i’m loving this song.
happy sunday night y’all, annie & i had a busy weekend! we went to wilmington to see sarah & friends & had a blast! (totally needed to get out of the qc for a while)
friday we had dinner on the water & started our own little dance party downtown.
& saturday we were lazy, had lunch, sat on the beach, watched the ncsu/unc game, & ate celebration (birthday) cake!
today was BEAUTIFUL (well friday & saturday were too). we went to church (& they even sang an elevation song!), had a huge brunch, & sat on the dock & chatted.
it was a much needed weekend away & i miss wilmington already!
annie had a GREAT halloween!
she was the cutest little ladybug in the world.
she wore her costume around the festival saturday (because it was colder & she would have gotten too hot sunday) & 3482374 people said she was adorable.
she wasn’t a huge fan of the antennas however (if you can’t tell by her pouting).
[pictures courtesy of my sister]
i have the sweetest pupper ever.
really, i do.
but lately she’s been a little escape artist.
[please excuse the peach colored bow & the pink sweater, my mom had a cow over this]
i don’t crate her anymore when i leave, i just confine her to a huge room, complete with lots of toys, a sofa to jump on, her doggie bed, natural light from a huge window, a television on her favorite channels (she likes cmt, bravo, & abc family), & fresh water. she isn’t even left alone for long ever because my sweet parents & grandparents will check on her & let her come hang with them if i have a long day at school/work or if i’m gone when she needs dinner.
this is where her escaping comes in. i used to not even put her gate (a baby gate) fully in the door, i just leaned it & that worked for a few months. she then learned to push it sideways to make a big enough crack to squeeze through. so i started actually putting it in the door. well, she jumped over her gate once about 3 months ago, i don’t think she really knew what she was doing & it kinda scared her, so she didn’t try again. until yesterday, i came home to be greeted at the door by a tail wagging, jumping, excited little girl, it was actually too cute for words.
i had to leave again in the afternoon for a bit & thought she’d either be out again when i got home or she’d scared herself jumping over her gate & wouldn’t do it again. she was still in her room, happily playing.
i decided she wouldn’t do it again anytime soon. until, today my dad texted me. he had gone to check on her since i’m at work & she was just sitting on the steps (her favorite place to hang out), excited to see him.
now, i have to figure out how to keep her in her room without having to close the door (because that seems mean to me) or keep her in her crate (because that’s just no fun at all) & she really shouldn’t just wander because even puppy proofed, there’s too much for her to get into.
she also has learned how to push the door to my bedroom open. i keep it closed because she likes to steal my clothes that i leave lying around. the funny thing is, she can open it & get in but somehow gets stuck inside & wimpers till i find her.
really i think this is all hilarious. she’s the smartest pup i’ve ever met (& i’m not just saying that because she’s mine).
